Raheem Sterling, the forward player for Chelsea, has stated that he is ready to play in any position to assist the team. This season, Sterling has occasionally played as a wing-back.
“I haven't complained about not playing in my position. I have come here with the intention of trying to do my part as best I can”, said the 28-year-old via The Sun, who joined the Blues just last year.
Many suggest that this is a “season to forget” for Chelsea, as the club is battling a challenging period, partly due to transforming leadership and an overcrowded dressing room. Chelsea was defeated in six matches in a row.
“From when the owners took over, things have moved pretty fast. There have been a few turnovers in terms of coaches, people higher up than coaches have changed as well, it has been a process, a learning curve for everyone”, confessed Sterling. He also added that it will take some time for the club to come back stronger, but they will do it eventually.
The England international admits that it has been a dream for him to join the Blues, which has not transpired.
“The more things are put into place, the better it will get so I haven't given up on the vision that the owners gave me at the start. I know it will turn."
