David Seaman shared his thoughts on the idea of Wolves' striker Fabio Silva going out on loan, drawing parallels to William Saliba's development at Arsenal.
The discussion surrounding the Wanderers emerged on the Seaman Says podcast, following their recent 2-2 draw with Newcastle United. The match saw Wolves' Pedro Neto exit the field due to injury, raising concerns as he clutched his hamstring. Fortunately, the injury may not keep him sidelined for an extended period.
With the talk of who might step in for Neto, Silva's name surfaced. The 21-year-old's loan spells last season, first at Anderlecht and then moving to PSV Eindhoven in January, were productive, as he tallied an impressive 16 goals across both stints.
The Portuguese ace returned to Molineux this summer, with sporting director Matt Hobbs playing a crucial role in making him feel valued. However, he has seen limited playing time in recent weeks, prompting speculation about a potential loan move in January.
Discussing the idea of the attacker's going on loan, the former England goalkeeper shared his perspective on the matter, drawing attention to how William Saliba's development under Mikel Arteta benefited from a similar move.
“The fact he is going out on loan is good because he’s getting match day experience. We have seen that at Arsenal with Saliba. You wouldn’t believe the player who left Arsenal to go out on loan, the one who came back was like Saliba’s other twin that had been training with Beckenbauer or someone! It can really help. But it is another step up, another level.”
