Arsenal's decisive 0-3 defeat to Brighton at home had their title hopes shattered. The disappointing match was followed by heavy criticism directed at the squad and its individual players.
Pundit Steve Nicol picked on young Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior after the Poland international explained his actions that allowed Brighton to score their opening goal on Sunday.
According to the 23-year-old, he was stepped on, which made him go down inside the area. Then, Kiwior's expectations for a foul were not met after despite him losing his shoe in the physical interaction. As a result, Brighton's Enciso opened the score for the night.
In Response to Kiwior's words, Nicol claimed that the Polish defender has made the situation even worse for himself with this reasoning.
“Your mentality has to be: ‘I don’t care if my leg’s just fallen off, where’s the ball? How can I stop it going in the net?’ With this guy’s answer, it’s absolutely horrible. His mentality is certainly not in the right place,” said the retired Scottish player via ESPN.
