PSG forward Neymar has missed the Ligue 1 side's first pre-season training after which PSG made an official statement claiming that the 27-year-old didn't inform that he won't attend the training.
However, the player's father, Neymar Sr claimed that Neymar was scheduled to report back to the French club's training ground on July 15.
“The reason [for his absence] is known and was scheduled one year ago, with the annual schedule of his institute, and we couldn't change it,” Neymar Sr told Fox Sports Brazil .
“His return will be on the 15th. It's as simple as that... no controversy. And PSG are aware and are part of the institute's actions.”
Later the club revealed that the Brazil international is free to leave the club if there is an offer that suits all parties.
"Neymar can leave PSG if there is an offer that suits all parties," sporting director Leonardo told Le Parisien.
"But to date, we do not know if anyone wants to buy it or at what price. All this is not done in a day, that's for sure..."
"PSG wants to rely on players who want to stay and build something big. We do not need players who would do a favor at the club by staying here."
As a reminder, Neymar is being linked with a return to La Liga side Barcelona.
