Manchester United transfer target Marcus Thuram will reportedly leave Borussia Monchengladbach as the club director confirmed.
The Frenchman, monitored by several Premier Lague teams, will reportedly not sign a new contract with the Bundesliga outfit.
According to recent sources, the ace was allegedly interested in making an Old Trafford switch in January than joining Aston Villa or Newcastle.
Thuram's current deal expires at the end of the campaign, and Monchengladbach failed to prevent him from departing on a free transfer.
The forward has had a standout season for the German side and helped France advance to the World Cup final in Qatar in December 2022.
Roland Virkus told to the club’s official website that the 25-year-old will be leaving the club in June as a free agent after failing to reach an agreement over renewal.
"It is a shame that they won’t be extending their current contracts, which expire in the summer, because both of them have given us a lot from a sporting perspective over the past four year.
"In an ideal world, we would have picked up an attractive transfer fee. It is obviously not good that it isn’t the case this time.
"However, both of them are players that can make the difference in games. Both have helped us immensely on the pitch in the past few years and are still doing that now, so despite all our justified disappointment, they have still earned a worthy send-off.”
