Potential new dates and Premier League sanctions after Manchester United vs Liverpool cancelled

Manchester United's clash against Liverpool has been postponed after protests outside Old Trafford. Supporters broke inside the ground and into the pitch during their protest against the Glazer family. A new date is yet to be resolved, though the intense fixture calendar adds extra pressure on all concerned to find an alternative slot. Premier League statement: Following the security breach at Old Trafford, the Manchester United vs. Liverpool game has been postponed. This is a collective decision from the police, both clubs, the Premier League and local authorities. The security and safety of everyone at Old Trafford remains of paramount importance. We understand and respect the strength of feeling but condemn all acts of violence, criminal damage and trespass, especially given the associated COVID-19 breaches. Fans have many channels by which to make their views known, but the actions of a minority seen today have no justification. We sympathise with the police and stewards who had to deal with a dangerous situation that should have no place in football. The rearrangement of the fixture will be communicated in due course. When will the fixture be played? As said in the Premier League statement, a new fixture date is yet to be decided. They have games in three consecutive midweeks ahead of the final day on May 23. Will there be any points deductions? It would be unique for the Premier League to directly punish Manchester United as a result of behaviour from their supporters and, therefore, that is extremely unlikely.
