Atletico Madrid's president Enrique Cerezo confirmed Marca's words, that Joao Felix would return to Spain as incoming Chelsea manager Pochettino does not want him at Stamford Bridge.
"The truth is that I can't tell you the plan with Joao. It's the news we had yesterday, that the new coach doesn't have him for Chelsea. We don't have anything planned yet, Joao is an Atletico player now," said the Spanish president. Apparently, the young Portuguese did not manage to impress the new Chelsea boss.
The young attacker on loan has scored 4 goals in a total of 16 appearances for interim coach Lampard's side. Given Chelsea's all-time-low tally, Felix was a standout player during the current campaign.
Pochettino was finally confirmed as the Blue's head coach on Monday. One reason that might have contributed to his decision is that the Blues have already made a deal with Christopher Nkuku from Leipzig.
