Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will once again miss an Arsenal clash - against Manchester City at the Emirates on New Year's Day.
The Gabon international has not featured for the Gunners since being stripped of the club captaincy after another "disciplinary breach" three weeks ago, and has reportedly been made to train on his own.
But now it seems as though they are set to be without Aubameyang for yet another match after he travelled to Dubai to join up with Gabon's national squad ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The players were allowed to stay at their clubs until 3rd of January, but he left way too soon.
Head coach Mikel Arteta is yet to provide an indication of when or if the 32-year-old will be involved again with the Arsenal first team.
"Today's decision wasn't to select him in the squad and we selected other players," the Spaniard said of his former skipper after the Gunners' 5-0 win over Norwich on Boxing Day.
According to football.london Aubameyang is considering his options ahead of the January transfer window, having attracted interest from clubs in France, Spain and Italy.
