Liverpool have set their sights on OGC Nice's Khephren Thuram and has reached a personal agreement, according to FootballTransfers.
Jurgen Klopp is seeking to strengthen his squad by adding a defensive midfielder before the upcoming season due to Fabinho's declining performances in the previous campaign. Negotiations between the two clubs are currently underway to determine a transfer fee, with Nice aiming to secure the maximum value for the talented French star, who is also attracting interest from Newcastle United.
Thuram has been on Liverpool's radar since January, and both the player and his representatives are reportedly keen on a move to Anfield. The acquisition of the 22-year-old would provide a significant boost to the Reds for the upcoming season.
Once the deal with the Frenchman is finalized, it will mark Liverpool's second signing of the summer transfer window after. Following this acquisition, Klopp will focus on securing a third midfielder to complete the squad overhaul. On June 8 Argentine star Alexis Mac-Allister was announced as a Liverpool player.
