Manchester City came out on top, winning 2-1 against Watford, however, the Hornets didn’t make it an easy task. The visitors hit first through Leroy Sane five minutes before the break, Rihad Mahrez then doubled their lead but Watford pressed late on and gave the visitors a scare with Abdoulaye Douncoure pulling one back with five minutes remaining.
City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed what he told his players after the game.
“We spoke in the dressing room that we have to learn about what happened in the last 20 or 25 minutes. Yes. That is the lesson. Never can you forget to play,” he said via The Mirror.
“Until the referee decides to go home you can never forget to play, play and play.”
