Manchester City are expected to pay €55m with add-ons yet to be finalised, to welcome Matheus Nunes from Wolves. Meanwhile, City youngster Tommy Doyle will go to Wolves on an initial loan move for £4.3m.
Pep Guardiola's side and the Portugal international have reportedly made a verbal agreement on personal terms. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 25-year-old is already on his way to Manchester to finalize the deal.
Although the swap between the clubs are not related, it is persumed that Doyle's temporary move to Wolves has helped the Citizens' pursuit of Nunes. Although the treble winners have been an admirer of the Portuguese player for some time, it was Kevin De Bruyne's hamstring injury that made the move a vital and urgent one.
Nunes will be used as a backup option to the Belgium star.
