Pep Guardiola has opened up on Erling Haaland, claiming the Manchester City star is "so important" to the team.
The Citizens are set to face Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. Ahead of the clash, Guardiola met the media to share the latest team news.
The City boss was asked about Haaland's transfer and its connection to winning the Champions League, to which he replied, via Manchester Evening News:
"He is so important for us. He came to help us to try and win the Champions League but at the same time daily in the FA Cup and Premier League as well."
"It's important to have a player who can score from nothing. Against Monaco we score six goals and are out. Against Tottenham, four goals and we're out. We have always scored goals, that was not the problem in general," he added.
