Paul Merson states his prediction for Brighton vs West Ham

Brighton are set to host West Ham in their next Premier League match on March 4, 2023. 

The Seagulls are currently sitting in 8th place in the league table with 35 points. The Hammers, meanwhile, are in 16th place in the relegation zone. 

Ahead of the two teams' meeting, Merson has shared his thoughts, backing Roberto De Zerbi's side beat the opponents despite their latest defeat to Fulham. 

"I don't know how they lost that game. They were all over the Cottagers and had 21 shots and seven shots on target. Fulham mustered just two on target. It's rather unfortunate that they didn't even get a point out of that game," the pundit said on Sportskeeda. 

"Brighton will need to aim for a Europa League spot as the Conference League would just be a drain on their time and resources next season.

"Meanwhile, West Ham United dominated Nottingham Forest and earned a big 4-0 win. But they will have their work cut out against the Seagulls this weekend."
