Pape Matar Sarr has identified Cristian Romero as the top performer in training at Tottenham.
Despite a somewhat underwhelming previous season, where Romero's performances were a source of frustration for Spurs fans, the 25-year-old defender has made a strong return this season. He has been displaying the same high-quality displays that he is known for with the Argentina national team.
Romero has also shown improved control over his aggression, which can be attributed to his new leadership role within the young Spurs defensive lineup. Playing alongside a dependable center-back partner like Micky van de Ven has contributed to Romero's success, and his teammates hold him in high esteem.
Pedro Porro recently referred to Romero as the best center-back in the world on Instagram, and now Sarr has disclosed that he stands out as the best in training among the rest of the squad.
"But for me, my best in training is Cuti Romero," he said on Footy Culture, via Spurs Web.
