Ian Wright predicts a promising future for Newcastle United player Anthony Gordon following an impressive display against Liverpool on Sunday.
Gordon joined the Magpies in January in a potentially expensive deal that could reach £45 million. Initially, there were concerns about the hefty price tag, but like many of Newcastle's signings, the club was investing in his potential. Although he had a slow start in his Newcastle career, it was evident that he possessed significant talent.
Wright was highly impressed by the player's performance at St James' Park, particularly as he scored his first-ever home goal for Newcastle in the latest game versus the Premier League opponents. The former Arsenal player believes that Newcastle's number 10 has even more potential to unlock.
“I thought Gordon, of what I have seen of him up until this point, that’s the best I have ever seen him,” Wright said.
“I know he is nowhere near his final form is, but he caused so many problems for them. They looked so dishevelled with him running at them.”
