Novak Djokovic has warned Next Generation stars that he, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will dominate Wimbledon once again this year.
Djokovic heads to Wimbledon SW 19 as the defending champion and a four-time winner. Roger Federer is the record holder as he won the trophy eight times. Rafael Nadal, meanwhile, will be gunning for a third title.
Rising stars such as Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev and Felix Auger-Aliassime are expected to make waves this campaign; however, Djokovic can only see the same players extending their stronghold on the Grand Slams.
“I always have the highest ambitions and this year is no different. I am top of the rankings and defending my Wimbledon title, hence I am hoping to go all the way again,” he said. “However, reality can be very different. Apart from the usual suspects, there is a bunch of other players who are strong contenders at Wimbledon.
“Federer and Nadal are always among the top candidates of course and the three of us should be the favourites to win the title. It will be a tough tournament and I will have to take it one step at a time, match by match.”
