Newcastle United are reportedly planning a bid to sign Hakan Calhanoglu during the summer transfer window.
According to the Italian publication, Calcio Mercato (via HITC) the Premier League side aim to strengthen their midfield, and Calhanoglu has attracted their interest.
The Turkish international has played a key role for Inter Milan, who have reached the Champions League final this Tuesday after beating AC Milan.
The midfielder's ability to operate in a deeper role could provide Eddie Howe's side with the opportunity to play other players further forward. However, the deal is contingent on Newcastle qualifying for the Champions League. If they do, the cost of signing Calhanoglu is estimated to be around £35 million.
The report claims that if the Magpies fail to secure a top-four finish, Juventus could become the frontrunners in the race to sign the player.
