New contender emerges as Ed Woodward replacement at Manchester United

Ed Woodward has announced his intention to leave Manchester United last month amid the Europa League failure, but remains in his role as executive vice-chairman until the end of 2021 and the race is on to replace him as the club’s most powerful executive. According to The Guardian, Richard Arnold, the group managing director of Manchester United, can be the likeliest to replace Woodward. But Arnold still has competition from Cliff Baty, the chief financial officer, and Hemen Tseayo, the head of corporate finance at Old Trafford. However, former United goalkeeper and current Ajax chief executive Edwin van der Sar looks more likely to be a low profile, internal appointment. And the owners of the club, the Glaser family are reported to prefer an internal candidate rather than bringing in someone from elsewhere. Source- Metro Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
