Lyon manager Bruno Genesio has revealed that Nabil Fekir is still struggling to face the reality and admit his failed transfer to Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp had sanctioned a £60million deal for the 25-year-old identifying him as a replacement for Phillippe Coutinho. However, the transfer collapsed in unknown circumstances and his knee injury played a major role.
Chelsea were also chasing Fekir but there were no official talks.
‘It is never easy accepting this kind of situation, when you are very near to signing for a club where you want to go,’ Genesio told reporters.
‘Where you want to reach another level and to give a boost to your career. ‘But as I said, it could have been worse for him. He is at Lyon, at a strong club, he is captain of a team who plays in the Champions League.’
