Mikel Arteta working on selling two Arsenal players, keen to strengthen in two areas

Mikel Arteta working on selling two Arsenal players, keen to strengthen in two areas

Arsenal are actively working to facilitate the departure of Cedric Soares and Mohamed Elneny during the January transfer window, HITC understands.

The players have been informed that they will not receive contract extensions, and with their current deals expiring in the summer, the club is eager to see them move on.

Mikel Arteta has deemed both players surplus to requirements. While there has been minimal transfer activity from Arsenal so far, this might change if Soares and Elneny secure moves before the window closes.

The duo has reportedly attracted interest from clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia, including Trabzonspor, Besiktas, and Galatasaray. Although a move to the Pro League is also a possibility, the fact that they can leave for free in the summer makes it challenging for Arsenal to push for their immediate exits.

The clear indication is that these players do not have a future at the Emirates Stadium, and the club hopes to secure even a small fee for their transfers in January. The Gunners are reportedly considering strengthening their squad with a focus on a full-back and midfielder.

Clearing out surplus players would aid Arsenal in their pursuit of the Premier League title, as a deep and capable squad is crucial for a successful campaign.
