Arsenal have identified Runar Alex Runarsson as Emiliano Martinez's replacement at the club, following the goalkeeper's quit from Emirates Stadium.
The Argentine professional has made a move to Aston Villa in a deal worth a reported £20m, which led the Gunners to look for an alternative to replace the second-choice keeper.
And according to
The Telegraph, Mikel Arteta's side have eyed Runarsson as a replacement for Martinez. The report claims they have opened talks with Dijon over a deal. Meanwhile, Arsenal continue to be linked with Brentford's David Raya.
Speaking about Martinez's possible replacement at the club ahead of West Ham clash, Arteta said:
"With the departure of Emi, which is a big loss - some that we wish the best [for] for what he’s done to the football club and for the person he is - we have to replace him.
"We've been looking in the market and I think we will be sure to announce our new signing in that position.
"In football, the hours can become days and something that looks unlucky can happen straight away so I cannot tell you.
"Depending on what’s going to happen with our third goalkeeping position. We had some talks about that in the last few months.
"Still, the market is still open but things can change."
