Mikel Arteta has identified four areas where Arsenal can improve in order to become more competitive in both domestic and European competitions.
Arsenal are set to play Brighton in their next match on Sunday as they aim to finish their Premier League campaign strongly. Despite their fifth-place finish last season, Arteta has raised expectations for the team and turned them into genuine title contenders this season, with hopes for more success in the future.
The Gunners manager believes that there is still a lot of room for improvement for his players and that none of them have reached their full potential yet. He is targeting significant progress in the future and has high hopes for the club's long-term prospects.
“We can be much better attacking man-to-man situations, we can be much better attacking open spaces, in set-pieces we have huge capacity still. In terms of game management we can be a lot better, we can be much more ruthless," the Spaniard said in the pre-match press conference, as quoted by Evening Standard.
“We don’t have a single player that has reached their peak, no one. And we as coaches have to be curious to understand what can we do to improve them. There are certain players that have to go to a different level in terms of leadership, what they transmit to the group, and in terms of responsibility and accountability for what happens here every single day," he added.
