Arsenal played their first pre-season match against Nurnberg on July 13, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
During the game, Folarin Balogun made an appearance for the Gunners, catching the attention of fans.
The 22-year-old had an impressive season in France, scoring 21 goals in 37 Ligue 1 matches for Stade Reims. This has led to interest from other clubs in signing the striker before the new season begins.
Currently, the American remains at the North London outfit, where he will face competition from Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, and Eddie Nketiah for playing time if he decides to stay.
Although Balogun's contract with the club expires in 2025, he reportedly wants to play regularly at this stage of his career.
Therefore, after the friendly against the German outfit, the manager Mikel Arteta commented on the ace's future at the club.
“Well this is what he has been doing and that’s why we gave him the minutes that he deserves to show what he can do,” the Gunners boss said via talkSPORT.
“He’s just staying here with us at the moment and we will see what happens.”
