Mikel Arteta could be announced as Arsenal head coach as early as next week.
Arsenal are hoping to be able to reveal who will be in Arteta’s coaching staff. It had been suggested that Santi Cazorla could be a part of staff, but he is believed to have agreed to link up with Villareal.
Xabi Alonso has also been suggested as a possibility.
The 36-year-old Arteta is given a major say in the club’s transfer dealings-including the power of veto, according to The Daily Mail.
Arteta accepts that he will have to work within a new management structure at Arsenal that includes head of recruitment Sven Mislintat and head of football relations Raul Sanllehi.
But the 36-year-old does not want to just have players chosen by Mislintat so talks will continue until he ensure he has the ‘right degree of influence’ over the club’s transfer policy.
