Premier League actions return this weekend for matchday 9 of 38 after one week observing the international break and below are my predictions.
For those reading my predictions for the first time, please understand that these tips are in no way 100 per cent correct or fixed, they are merely based on my gut feelings and recent form.
Matchday 9 Premier League Predictions
Liverpool vs Everton
Although it's a lunchtime game, The Reds are expected to get the job done. I understand it's a Merseyside derby, but Liverpool are a different side at Anfield. And I can't recall the last time they lost at home to the Toffees.
Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 Everton
Betting Tip: Home to win
Brentford vs Burnley
The Bees are expected to bounce back to winning ways after losing their first half lead in injury time against Manchester United. Burnley are playing nice football but aren't scoring goals and because Brentford are a tough nut to crack at home, I believe they will get the maximum points.
Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Burnley
Betting Tip: Home to win
Bournemouth vs Wolves
If I was asked to name a Prem team that will be relegated this season, I'd easily say Bournemouth. The Cherries have struggled in games this season so far and with Wolves lethal on the attack, I doubt Bournemouth will get anything off this game.
Prediction: Bournemouth 1-3 Wolves
Betting Tip: AWEH
Nottingham Forest vs Luton Town
Luton Town stand no chance. No. Nottingham will easily outclass the newly-promoted side and I expect them to get all three points on Saturday. Luton have won just a game this term so far.
Prediction: Nottingham Forest 3-0 Luton Town
Betting Tip: Home win
Manchester City vs Brighton
Man City will welcome Rodri back in the starting lineup and his presence will improve City's chances to bounce back to winning ways. Despite his return, I don't expect the Citizens to keep a clean sheet.
Prediction: Man City 3-2 Brighton
Betting Tip: BTTS
Newcastle United vs Crystal Palace
The Magpies are expected to maintain their winning form against Palace, who are struggling for consistency. Newcastle are stronger at home but I expect a tight game.
Prediction: Newcastle 2-1 Crystal Palace
Betting Tip: Home to win
Chelsea vs Arsenal
A London derby game always comes with a shock. It's obvious Arsenal are in better form but matches like this don't really get influence by form or venue of the event. Chelsea have created more chances to win games but their lack of a proper No.9 has somewhat put them in the position they currently are on the table. If Mauricio Pochettino drops Nicolas Jackson on the bench, then the Blues have a chance to get a win but overall, I think the spoils will be shared, with Arsenal struggling to dominate games away from home.
Prediction: Chelsea 2-2 Arsenal
Betting Tip: BTTS
Sheffield United vs Manchester United
Man United may have struggled this season but they are easily to get an easy ride on Sheffield United. The Blades haven't won a game in the Prem this season. Do they even know how to win a game?
Prediction: Sheffield Utd 0-3 Man United
Betting Tip: Away to win
Aston Villa vs West Ham
This is a tricky game but Aston Villa have been superb at home since the arrival of Unai Emery last year. West Ham have been exciting as well but I expect them to fall short at Villa.
Prediction: Aston Villa 3-1 West Ham
Betting Tip: BTTS
Tottenham vs Fulham
Spurs are surprisingly at the top of the Prem table after 9 matches. They have done well this season so far but it's obvious that form can take a turn at any point. Fulham held Arsenal to a 2-2 draw at away and I am expecting the same.
Prediction: Tottenham 2-2 Fulham
Betting Tip: BTTS
