Manchester United want to make four signings to strengthen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad

Manchester United had a busy summer transfer window as they welcomed Donny van de Beek, Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri as well as agreed a deal to sign Atalanta youngster Amad Diallo. And ahead of the January transfer window, transfer expert Duncan Castles said that the Red Devils are keen to make four additions to the squad in the upcoming windows.

According to Castles, United want to sign a centre-back as well as a back-up to right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka. A right winger also remains on the wish list as well as a midfielder.

"Manchester United's position in the transfer market is that they're still looking in a number of positions," Castles said on the Transfer Window podcast.

"Left-footed centre-back to try and improve and compensate for Maguire's weaknesses.

"Back-up right-back, central midfielder, we talked last week about the talks they've had with Independiente in Ecuador for Moises Caicedo, a story which has been quite widely reported since we broke it on the podcast.

"He would obviously improve their options there. And then that right-winger."
