As the summer approaches, Erik ten Hag is finalizing his plans for fresh signings with a clear strategy to strengthen his squad. However, some of his costly choices as well as expiring deals, will make the club wave goodbye to some of its members.
The Premier League giants currently have 9 squad members whose contracts will expire in 2024, if no further deals are made.
Man United players contracts expiring in the summer of 2024
Marcus Rashford
There are few players in the world can match the exceptional form of the 25-year-old English international. Rashford joined the Manchester United’s youth academy at the age of seven and made his first-team debut in February 2016. Since then, he has established himself as one of the key players in the squad. Throughout the years Rashford has had 233 appearances as a Red Devil and scored 74 goals.
Diogo Dalot
The Portuguese international has been serving as a full-back for Manchester United in the English Premier League since 2018. Due to his skills on the pitch Dalot has established himself as the club’s first-choice right-back, and there are currently talks that the 24-year-old player might extend his contract with the club beyond 2024.
Alejandro Garnacho
After playing in Atletico Madrid’s youth system for 5 years, the Argentine starlet joined the Manchester United Academy in 2020. Garnacho came under the spotlight especially after his sensational solo goal during Manchester United's victory over Everton in the FA Youth Cup. It was later nominated for the prestigious "Goal of the Month" award by the club in February 2022.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
The 25-year-old talented Englishman is a full-back who joined Manchester United in the summer of 2019 from Crystal Palace. Since last year, there have been speculations that the club wants to sell Wan-Bissaka that have not been fulfilled as for now. The player will conclude his 4-year deal with Erik ten Hag’s side next year.
Frederico Rodrigues
Frederico Rodrigues, commonly known as Fred joined the club as a central midfielder in the summer of 2018 from Shakhtar Donetsk. Despite featuring in all of Manchester United's last ten games across all competitions, Fred has only started three of those matches, which is a testament to his versatility.
Anthony Martial
The 27-year-old forward joined the Red Devils in 2015, with an intial four-year deal with a record-breaking fee for a teenager. Before this transfer, United’s previous record was for Luke Shaw and Marquinhos. Martial was loaned to Sevilia in 2021, but in the years when he played at Old Trafford, the French international scored 60 goals in 188 appearances.
Victor Lindelöf
The Swedish center-back joined Manchester United in 2017. Lindelof is known for his composure and ability to read the game, which allows him to make important interceptions and tackles. The 28-year-old played an important role in the team’s second-place finish in Premier League’s 2020-21 season.
Brandon Williams
The young English international has been at Trafford since his youth years and has mainly played as a left-back, but also right-back at times. Williams graduated from Manchester United youth academy and made his debut in the club’s first-team in 2019. The skilled 20-year-old has previously represented his country at under-20 and under-21 levels.
Teden Mengi
Mengi has also made Old Trafford his home at an early age and is a graduate of Manchester United youth system. His senior debut was at UEFA Europa League in 2020. Overall, the center-back youngster’s performances for Erik ten Hag’s side have been impressive, and he is sure to be reached by Premier League clubs per his exit.
