Speculations are rife that Manchester United are considering Anderlecht goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen as a potential replacement for long-standing club stalwart David de Gea.
De Gea's costly errors have brought into question his No.1 status, and with his contract set to expire soon, Manchester United is considering potential successors.
According to Manchester Evening News, the club is interested in Anderlecht’s 20-year-old shot-stopper Bart Verbruggen. The Dutch keeper, who was given his Anderlecht debut by Vincent Kompany at just 18 years old, has made 31 appearances for the Belgian club. He recently received his first call-up to the Netherlands national team and was on the bench for their European Championship qualifying win against Gibraltar.
Despite De Gea's impressive 15 clean sheets current season, which puts him in contention to receive the Premier League Golden Glove award, he has made four costly errors that resulted in conceding goals. As a result, he has not been selected to represent Spain since being dropped from the team in November 2021.
