Manchester City target 14-goal striker as Harry Kane alternative

Manchester City have reportedly included Benfica striker Darwin Nunez on their transfer shortlist. Head coach Pep Guardiola is in desperate chase of a striker, after the loss of Sergio Aguero to Barcelona. Harry Kane is a top target, but Nunez is also now an option, as The Athletic claim. The 22-year-old became Benfica’s club-record signing last summer when the Portuguese outfit splashed £20.5million (Goal) to land his signature. Joining the club after scoring 16 goals in 32 for Almeria, he only managed to net 14 times and provide 12 assists in 44 games. City have been constantly linked with a move to sign Tottenham striker Kane, however he is not the only player on their shortlist, with Robert Lewandowski and Nunez also included.
