Manchester City receive positive injury update as player now 'confident' to be fit for World Cup 2022

Manchester City have received a positive injury update on Kyle Walker as the player could now be fit to take part in the upcoming World Cup.

The defender was out of action due to fitness issues, while there were fears over his possible availability for Qatar 2022. Liverpool's Joe Gomez was considered as a possible option to replace Walker in England national squad.

According to Daily Mail sports journalist Sami Mokbel, Walker is now two weeks into his recovery from groin surgery and is 'confident' to be in form for the World Cup. It just looks like he will miss the opener against Iran in case of being involved in the Three Lions squad.

'I'm confident (about being ready for the World Cup)," the City star said in an interview with BBC last week.

"I've been through enough in my career to know my body. I'm well above what they thought I'd be able to do at this point. I just feel I can do this. There will be bumps in the road but hopefully, come the selection, I'm included," he added.
