Manchester City are ready to join the race for Ben Chilwell when the transfer window opens at the end of the season. The Leicester left-back has also been considered at the Etihad Stadium should they need to recruit in that position.
Pep Guardiola has played Benjamin Mendy the most times at left-back this season and also has Oleksandr Zinchenko. However, Guardiola could move the Ukraine international into midfield.
Chilwell’s deal is complicated due to the absence of a release clause. The clubs need to negotiate a fee with Leicester to bring him to Stamford Bridge next season, according to Goal.
The left-back is under contract at the King Power Stadium until 2024. Yet Leicester rate Chilwell as even better than Harry Maguire who they sold to Manchester United last summer for a world-record fee of £80million for a defender.
