The European Super League have been shocking the world since 2021. The tournament was back in the spotlight on Thursday when the European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruled that both UEFA and FIFA acted against competition law.
Back in 2021 fans protested the tournament and it was halted with UEFA and FIFA having blocked it's potential return.
Following the new revelations, Manchester City FC have issues a statment in relation to the European Super League.
The statement reads: "Manchester City Football Club confirmed in 2021 that it had formally enacted the procedures to withdraw from the group developing plans for a European Super League.
"Our position has not changed. We remain committed to the values of European football, and we will continue to work with fellow clubs through the ECA and participate in UEFA competitions."
