Manchester City ace Manuel Akanji, has expressed his frustration and disappointment at being unable to participate in the highly anticipated Manchester derby against Manchester United.
This Sunday's match at Old Trafford holds significant emotional weight due to the recent passing of United legend Sir Bobby Charlton. However, Akanji will be absent from the game due to a suspension due to a second yellow card received in the victory over Brighton last Saturday.
‘Really frustrated, it was not even a foul,’ said the 28-year-old in a pre-match press conference.
‘I touched him [Fati] a little bit on the hip but let go after less than a second. He took two steps and fell and the ref gave me a second yellow."
He received his initial yellow card in the second half for a professional foul on Kaoru Mitoma and his second for a foul on Ansu Fati, who was attempting to counter-attack in the 95th minute.
