Liverpool assistant coach Pep Lijnders has provided an update on the Reds youngster, Harvey Elliott, ahead of their Carabao Cup clash against Arsenal. The 18-years-old has been sidelined with a serious ankle injury which he suffered during Liverpool's 3-0 victory over Leeds United back in September. Elliott has now returned to full training. The Reds will face the Gunners in the semi-final second leg of the Carabao Cup clash on Thursday, January 20. First leg between the sides ended in a goalless draw. Speaking ahead of the game during a press conference, Lijnders said: "He hasn't lost his football brain. It would be a crime not to play him when you see him like that y'day. He didn't knock on the door, he ran through it but we'll take our time. He needs to get 'team fit'. Great to have him back."
