Liverpool announced FOUR players to leave the club as free agents

Liverpool has announced that four players, James Milner, Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita will depart from Anfield as free agents at the end of the season. All four of the Reds' contracts expire at the end of the current 2022/23 season.

"The quartet will each embark on new chapters in their careers following the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, having helped the Reds lift a host of the game’s biggest honours during their spells at Anfield." says the official club statement by Liverpool.

It has been also revealed that the Reds will give special recognition to the four players during their last home game of the season against Aston Villa. The club stated, "With the visit of Aston Villa on Saturday being the Reds' final home fixture of the campaign, we will pay special acknowledgements to the quartet at Anfield."

Additionally, the club plans to extend further tributes to the players and their families through digital platforms after the season concludes, expressing their best wishes for their future endeavors.

The players had different levels of achievement during their time at the club. Firmino has become a legendary figure for the club, while Milner has been a reliable and adaptable presence for eight years at Anfield. Oxlade-Chamberlain had significant contributions with 32 appearances in the 2017-18 season and 30 appearances during the title-winning 2019-20 campaign. Unfortunately, injuries prevented him from making further impact. Keita, despite being considered a somewhat disappointing signing, had occasional standout performances during Liverpool's successful pursuit of trophies.
