Lewis Hamilton sends message to Max Verstappen following F1 World Championship win second year in a row

Lewis Hamilton has taken to Instagram to send a message to Max Verstappen after Verstappen secured the Formula One World Championship title for the second year in a row.

Verstappen won the World Championship for the second year in a row finishing first in the Japanese GP.

The Red Bull racing driver currently has 366 points and there are four races left.

Following the race, Hamilton took to Instagram to send a message and congratulate Verstappen on his win.

He wrote: "Tough race under some tough conditions. Rain always brings a challenge, so it’s good to be leaving with some points for the team.

"Means everything to see fans in the stands, especially in this weather, so much love to the ones who came out. Finally, congratulations to Max on a great season. See you all in Texas."

The next race will take place in Austin, Texas on Sunday, October 23.
