Lewis Hamilton delivers warning to F1 fans hoping for more exciting races

Lewis Hamilton has warned Formula One fans who are frustrated with the number of non-competitive races this year that things are unlikely to improve in the near future. Out of the 10 races so far, only Max Verstappen of Red Bull has broken the chain of a Mercedes winner. Hamilton’s seven wins has helped him open up a 39-point lead over teammate Valtteri Bottas. “We know better than anybody which track we can overtake [on] and which track we can’t,” Hamilton said. “There are ones that [F1] are selecting for the future that we’re going to have not such great racing, the ones that are on the calendar that aren’t great. “We’ve got places where you just can’t follow and it is like a train. And so, what would you prefer? Having a race in those countries just for the sake of having a race - or do you want a great race like this [Silverstone]?”
