L'Equipe: Manchester United weigh up move for Rennes defender

Manchester United weighing up a move for Rennes left-back Faitout Maouassa, according to L'Equipe. Maouassa will only have 12 months left to run on his existing deal this summer. Contract extension talks are yet to begin and Rennes will struggle to keep Maouassa. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is understood to have put United's search for a new left-back on hold. Maouassa is also on the radar of Premier League side Newcastle, who are in the process of a £300m takeover. The France Under-21 international has played a direct hand in four goals in 23 league appearances this term. Source: WhoScored
