Leeds United have reportedly ‘closed the agreement’ to sign Diego Llorente from Real Sociedad.
On Tuesday,
Marca journalist Yon Cuezva backed up English claims of interest from Marcelo Bielsa’s side and it was stated negotiations with La Real were ongoing. Currently, only a medical is in the way of the transfer being completed, and the fee is put at ‘close to €20m’.
Leeds had been making serious efforts for Josko Gvardiol, and Dinamo Zagreb were willing to listen to their offers, but the player wasn’t keen on the move. He didn’t feel ready for the switch and wanted a further year in Croatia.
But now, Leeds United appears to have got the extra defender they wanted.
Real Sociedad have been willing to listen to offers for Llorente because their manager, Imanol Alguacil, wants a left-footed centre back signed.
