Jurgen Klopp rejected chance to become Manchester United manager

Jurgen Klopp could have become Manchester United manager before signing for Liverpool, says Robbie Fowler. In his Mirror column, former Reds striker reveals that the German coach has turned down couple of rich clubs after leaving Dortmund. "I did an interview with him a couple of years ago and he told me he turned down a couple of super-rich clubs after Dortmund – one of them was definitely Manchester United , the other probably Real Madrid – because he hated how they were focused solely on commercial influences," wrote Fowler. "He said he liked Liverpool because they had a balance between the money needed to reach the top and the history and identity of the club and their fans." Klopp joined Premier League side in 2015 and has been with the Reds until now. Currently the Reds are leading the table with maximum points and will be preparing to play against Manchester United after the international break on October 20. via Mirror.
