John Terry names three Chelsea players who have impressed him the most this season

Chelsea icon John Terry has highlighted Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling, and Thiago Silva as three standout players in the current squad.

Despite the Blues facing challenges since the consortium led by Todd Boehly took over last season, spending over £1 billion on new players, they finished 12th in the Premier League last season and currently hold the 10th position after 12 games this season.

While Chelsea's overall performance has faced scrutiny, some players have shone, catching the eye of club legend John Terry. When asked about the standout performers, ex-Blues' star mentioned Cole Palmer, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City for £45 million in the summer, making an impact with four goals and four assists in 11 games across competitions.

"I think what I love about Cole is that from the very first penalty he took, he walked right up and took the ball. For a young player to do that at a top football club like ours, it shows big personality," he said about the ex-Citizens' star on Football London, via Sportskeeda.

Raheem Sterling, who arrived from City last season, has experienced a resurgence, contributing five goals and two assists in 14 games this season after an underwhelming previous campaign.

Thiago Silva, meanwhile, has been a consistent presence for Chelsea under the management of Mauricio Pochettino, playing every minute in the Premier League this season. Despite the team's ups and downs, these three players have managed to impress John Terry with their performances on the field.

Speaking about Sterling and Silva, Terry added: "He [Sterling] has been phenomenal. I think Raheem is amazing and I've played against him before and he's an absolute nightmare. He's been really exciting but for me, I love watching Thiago [Silva]."
