Jamie Carragher thinks Liverpool should drop one of their midfielders and try Mohamed Salah as a central striker.
Reds faced a 1 - 0 defeat to Southampton last night, and Carragher feels Jurgen Klopp should make some changes in the system.
“A couple of years ago, when they just missed out on the title, Liverpool have always been a 4-3-3 team, but they had a spell in that season where they went 4-2-3-1 and Salah went through the middle, with Shaqiri a little bit from the right," he told
Sky Sports.
“I’m just thinking going forward before Jota comes back, or when he comes back, they may actually just tweak something, maybe take one of the midfield players out.
“The midfield players, whoever they are, very rarely look like scoring.
“They could put Salah up-front, Jota from the right, or Shaqiri from the right and just get an extra man on the pitch who can score and sacrifice one of the midfield players.”
