Jamie Carragher has asserted that Declan Rice is a more effective defensive midfielder than Rodri.
The pundit included the Arsenal player in his EA FC 24 Team of the Year on CBS Sports via their YouTube channel.
The rivalry between Rice and Rodri began when Rice chose to join Arsenal in the summer transfer window, with Pep Guardiola acknowledging Manchester City's interest in the Englishman in October. However, Guardiola stated that Arsenal's influence and potential financial constraints for City led to Rice opting for the Premier League runners-up.
Carragher now believes Rice outshines Rodri and previously suggested that Arsenal's inclusion of the former West Ham United captain played a crucial role in their title race with Manchester City.
Interestingly, the Europa Conference League winner praised the £63 million man as "incredible" when discussing his highest-rated defensive midfielders in September.
“For me, Declan Rice just has the edge over Rodri,” he said on CBS Sports, via Manchester City News.
