Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish has responded to Douglas Luiz after the midfielder's passionate outcry on Sunday.
Douglas gave away a penalty in the 3-1 defeat to Manchester United at Villa Park on Sunday, Bruno Fernandes stepping up to equalise for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
Then Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani netted for the Red Devils to secure crucial three points.
Douglas was targeted on social media by trolls and the former Manchester City man, who celebrated his 23rd birthday on Sunday, responded with a passionate statement.
"I'm enjoying my day, let me enjoy it in peace!" he wrote on photo and video-sharing platform Instagram.
"I am a passionate player for the club and I never wanted to commit a penalty like this and end up hurting the team and the result.
"Now, who doesn't understand me, **** you. I'm happy to be 23 years old. With many errors, I'm learning!! Thank you all for the messages you are sending me, as soon as I have time I will answer them all, I love you all. FAMILY."
On Monday, Grealish sent his team-mate a birthday message, uploading a picture of the pair embracing on Instagram.
"Happy birthday, my brother," Grealish wrote with two love-heart emojis attached.
