Ivan Toney's significant hint sends Chelsea and Arsenal on high alert following expiry of football ban

Following the expiration of his eight-month football ban, Ivan Toney has dropped a significant hint about a potential transfer, introducing an element of uncertainty around his future at Brentford.

The striker, who has not played since May due to 232 breaches of the Football Association's betting rules, expressed gratitude to the Bees and their fans for their support during his suspension.

However, a shift in tone occurred as the Englishman revealed a new ambition to play for a "top club" in an interview with Sky Sports.

"Everyone knows Brentford is a family club, they have been nothing but amazing for me. I can’t thank them enough, especially the fans. They were behind me from the first minute. So it’s kind of like I have a lot to repay." the 27-year-old claimed.

Moreover, he even suggested the possibility of leaving Brentford before the closure of the January transfer window in two weeks.

"You can never predict when is the right time to move elsewhere,'

"It’s obvious I’d like to play for a top club, everybody wants to play for the top clubs, fighting for titles and these kinds of things. So whether it’s this January for a club to come in and pay the right money, who knows? But my main focus is doing what I do on the pitch and let the background work take care of itself." Toney added.

While the attacker's transfer has been a top topic as he has been the subject of past links with Arsenal and Chelsea, and he has openly expressed his admiration for Liverpool, Brentford's manager Thomas Frank has emphatically stated that the striker is not on the market for a transfer.
