Paul Merson has given his prediction for the upcoming match between Newcastle United and Liverpool on February 18, 2023.
The Magpies are set to host Jurgen Klopp's side in their next Premier League match on Saturday.
Newcastle are currently standing fourth in the table following their 1-1 draw against Bournemouth last week, the Reds, meanwhile, sit ninth, 19 points behind the leader Manchester City.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at St James park, 5:30 pm UK time.
Writing on Sportskeeda, the pundit predicted the result of the match, claiming the meeting will end in a narrow 1-1 draw.
"This is a massive game. Liverpool are back to their high-tempo style of play, and they're closing down very well. Some of their players played very well against Everton. They're not at their best yet, but they're getting there."
"Newcastle are a solid team, but they're not winning many football matches. If Liverpool win this game, they've got every chance of making it into the Premier League top four. I think this game will end in a draw - it suits Newcastle, but it doesn't suit Liverpool."
