"If you’re asking me": David Moyes drops latest Nayef Aguerd injury update

David Moyes has revealed the latest injury update on Nayef Aguerd.

The Scottish manager confirmed the Morocco international will not be back in action before the World Cup break. The 26-year-old joined the Premier League side from Rennes on a five-year deal during this summer transfer window.

Aguerd underwent surgery and spent three months on the sidelines due to an ankle injury he sustained when in pre-season.

The Hammers are scheduled to have three home meetings before the World Cup kicks in a few weeks. Against Crystal Palace on Sunday, October before hosting Blackburn Rovers in EFL third round in midweek, meanwhile, the clash against Leicester on November 12 will be the final one until December 27.

Therefore, following their sixth in-a-row Europa Conference League group stage victory over FCSB on Thursday, Moyes confirmed the center-back is set to be back after the tournament in Qatar.

“I’m pleased for him. I think that will be his first 90 minutes since the end of last season. I think he will benefit from the 90 minutes.

“He’s certainly back now but I don’t think he’ll play for us in the Premier League before the World Cup break. But if you’re asking me if he’s fit and ready to go, yes he is, and we’re just getting him completely ready now.” stated the coach via WHUFC.
