Ian Wright speaks out on the ‘Idiot’ arrested for throwing a banana at Aubameyang

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has commented on the incident took place in north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham. One of Tottenham’s supporters threw a banana skin on the pitch to target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ian Wright branded him an idiot. Police arrested the spectator at the Emirates for throwing the item on the pitch in an act that has obvious racist connotations. Smoke canisters were also thrown into the away stand by Arsenal supporters after one the home team's goals was scored. The Football Association are set to investigate the incident that saw a man throw a banana skin at Aubameyang, Speaking as a pundit on Match of the Day 2, Wright commented on the incident which came only days his documentary on black footballers, 'Out Of Their Skin', was aired on ITV. "It's ironic in a week where I presented a show in which we celebrated the pioneers and how far we've come," he said. "I've played against Spurs and I've taken a lot of abuse but never, ever has it been racial. "Now Spurs have to deal with this because some idiot has done that. It's not embarrassed Spurs, it's embarrassed the Premier League because it's gone around world. Now Spurs have to deal with that and have that taint all over them. It's unfortunate to see."
