Ian Wright's BOLD Liverpool vs Arsenal score prediction sparks Premier League title buzz

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has confidently forecasted victory for the Gunners in their upcoming clash against Liverpool this Saturday.

The high-stakes match could see the Reds reclaim the top spot in the Premier League just in time for Christmas. In a recent turn of events, Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz propelled Mikel Arteta's side to a crucial 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion, allowing them to overtake Liverpool in the standings.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp's team faced a setback in their pursuit of the top spot after a goalless draw against Manchester United at Anfield.

This Saturday's showdown promises to be a fierce encounter, with last season's memorable clash still fresh in memory. Klopp's squad had rallied to secure a draw against the North Londoners, triggering a downturn in form that ultimately contributed to Manchester City's championship success.

Drawing motivation from the scars of their previous meeting, Wright believes his former side holds a crucial psychological edge going into this pivotal match.

"I think Arsenal will win - they must," he said on the Stick to Football podcast.

"What happened last season [against Liverpool], where the wheels started to shake a bit, that’s got to count for something for this team going to Anfield. I’m predicting 2-1 to Arsenal.

"That would be amazing, an Arsenal title. I just want them to go for it. If it doesn’t happen, I’m going to be devastated because I do genuinely believe we’ve got a great chance," said Wright.

"That’s why the game against Liverpool, I’m so intrigued by it, because I want to see how we react to what happened last year. Everybody is thinking, ‘oh, let’s see what happens when we get to Liverpool’. They’ve got to use that to fuel them."
