Rio Ferdinand has expressed his surprise that no other team attempted to sign Manchester City's talented player Jeremy Doku.
Ferdinand found it astonishing that Manchester City had a clear path to sign Doku for £55.5 million (as reported by Sky Sports).
Described as an "elite dribbler" by The Athletic, the 21-year-old has already garnered admiration from Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola. The latter was notably impressed by how quickly the player adapted to life at the Etihad Stadium, particularly after his outstanding performance in the team's 3-1 victory against West Ham.
In light of this, Rio Ferdinand couldn't fathom why other clubs didn't compete with Manchester City to secure Jeremy Doku's signature. He shared his thoughts on the matter during an appearance on FIVE magazine’s official YouTube channel.
“I’m just surprised that he wasn’t taken by anybody else. I am, genuinely because I said that the raw materials he has, you’d think he would be a no-brainer for anybody. He’s got the personality, you can tell from his interviews only. His personality, his character’s there," the pundit said, via Manchester City News.
